IC, formerly branded IC Markets, centres its offering on leveraged CFD trading, multiple platforms and a choice between Raw Spread and Standard pricing. This review examines the account structure and the practical costs behind it, with particular attention to active trading and automation.
Worth comparing when platform compatibility and explicit commission pricing are priorities. The strongest comparison is based on your complete trading cost and the correct regional entity, rather than an execution-speed slogan or a minimum-spread headline.

Strengths & limitations
What stands out
- Published account pages distinguish raw pricing from spread-based pricing.
- Several established platforms support different trading workflows.
- Separate funding, trading-condition and regulation resources support further research.
What to weigh carefully
- Raw spreads still carry commissions and possible financing costs.
- Platform and regional differences complicate a single headline comparison.
- Execution and liquidity claims need independent measurements before being treated as tested results.
Brand and service overview
IC announced that icmarkets.com would move to ic.com on 11 July 2026 as part of its branding evolution. That explains why older material may still use “IC Markets”. Always use an official destination and check the legal company shown during onboarding; a familiar logo is not proof that a particular website or payment instruction is genuine. The rebrand itself does not establish that every regional account has identical conditions. [1]
Raw Spread versus Standard
The official account menu separates Raw Spread, cTrader Raw Spread, Standard and swap-free information. The MetaTrader Raw Spread page advertises spreads starting at zero with a US$3.50 commission per lot per side. Standard pricing should be compared as a spread-based model. Do not transfer a MetaTrader commission to cTrader or another account currency without checking the relevant schedule. The two account models make the same question visible in different ways: how much does one complete trade cost? [2][3]
Costs that matter beyond the spread
For an intraday strategy, spread plus round-trip commission is the first useful measure. For a multi-day position, financing may be equally important. Include conversion charges when the instrument’s settlement currency differs from your account currency. As a hypothetical example, a 0.2-pip EUR/USD spread at US$10 per pip contributes US$2; adding US$7 round-trip commission gives US$9 before other costs. This is arithmetic to explain the model, not a recorded IC fill.
Platforms, EAs and automation
IC’s site lists MetaTrader, cTrader and TradingView. An existing MT4 Expert Advisor, a cTrader automation project and a TradingView chart-based workflow are different technical commitments. Confirm the platform/account pairing, instrument list, order-size limits and historical-data needs before migrating a strategy. Then test installation, connection recovery and order handling in a suitable test environment. A demo exercise can reveal workflow problems, but it cannot establish the slippage or liquidity available to a live account. [4]
Execution claims and practical testing
IC describes its Raw Spread infrastructure and markets the account toward active traders, scalpers and Expert Advisor users. Treat those descriptions as provider claims. A meaningful execution review would record requested and filled prices, rejected orders, timestamps and market conditions across a defined sample. Traxde has not performed that study. Avoid assuming that a data-centre location or a fast advertised response time guarantees a particular fill, especially around a news release or an illiquid session. [2]
Regulation, funding and account administration
Confirm the exact IC entity, regulator, dispute process and client-money terms before opening an account. Regional entities can offer different leverage, protections and instruments. Funding also deserves its own comparison: check the available methods, minimums, conversion costs, withdrawal sequence and beneficiary-name rules. Keep payment instructions inside the verified client portal. The account balance needed for a strategy should follow its risk and margin requirements; a minimum deposit is not a sensible trading budget by itself. [4]
Who is it most relevant to?
IC is most relevant to a shortlist built around an established platform, a specific automation setup or an explicit spread-plus-commission comparison. It deserves more investigation if you want to compare several broker implementations of the same strategy. It is a weaker fit for a reader who expects account naming alone to establish safety, execution quality or suitability. Those are separate questions requiring separate evidence.
Our conclusion
IC offers a clear starting point for comparing raw and spread-based accounts. The review decision should turn on the total cost for your instruments, the operational fit of the chosen platform and the terms of the actual legal entity. The published structure is useful; live performance and funding experience remain untested in this review.
Frequently asked questions
Is IC the same branding as IC Markets?
IC’s official July 2026 announcement explains the move from icmarkets.com to ic.com. Check the current legal entity independently of the brand name.
Is Raw Spread commission-free?
No. The MetaTrader Raw Spread page separately lists a per-side commission. Calculate both sides of the trade.
Can an EA be moved between all platforms?
Do not assume so. Check the programming environment, supported order behaviour and platform-specific account availability.
